 In yet another mining community in Nueva Vizcaya, at least 10 individuals, including a 2-month old baby and his mother, were killed in landslides. On November 12, 2020, at least 3 sitios in Runruno, Quezon in Nueva Vizcaya have simultaneously experienced landslides resulting in the tragic deaths of 10 individuals who belong to the IP group, Ifugao. 2 of them are female while 8 are males.

At least Eighteen Households belonging to the indigenous Kuki people of Manipur were evicted by the Deputy Commissioner of Tengnoupal District, Manipur in North East India on 3 November 2020 at M. Chahnou and SL. Gamnon Villages for the construction of the Moreh – Integrated Check Point (ICP).

The Indigenous Peoples Rights International (IPRI) and the Centro de Derechos Humanos de la Montaña de Guerrero, Tlachinollan are calling for solidarity with Mexican Indigenous women Valentina Rosendo and Ines Fernandez in their continuing fight for justice.

The Aborigen-Forum, the Indigenous Peoples Rights International, and the Cultural Survival request your support by signing and circulating this open letter to Elon Musk, the Chief Executive Officer of the Tesla company that produces electric cars and clean energy. This letter requests him to stop buying any products from Nornickel company, a company that destroys indigenous peoples’ lands in the Russian Siberia. We request Tesla to only resume trade with Nornickel when the company implements the requirements of the local Indigenous communities with regard to a healthy environment and sustainable development in their mining activities. Amid the pandemic, six Indigenous villagers, including Kinipan community leader Effendi Buhing, and two Indigenous youth, were arrested by the Central Kalimantan Police, in Indonesia, for defending their customary forest against the expansion of PT Sawit Mandiri Lestari (PT SML), a palm oil company. Buhing was arrested on August 26, while the other five were arrested on August 15.
